This page layout is inspired by a Creative Memories blog from January 26, 2024 called Crafting Christmas Cheer: Unwrap The Magic Of Scrapbooking With Mats! Don’t get stuck on the Christmas theme. This is a handy design for any memories.
The original design, shown on the left, calls for the basic design that is shown on the right:
Gather these supplies:
• 12 x 12 inch designer patterned paper – shop Papers & Mats – Creative Memories
• 4 x 6 Mat Pack (or use cardstock) – shop Papers & Mats – Creative Memories
• 12 inch border strip, other embellishments – stickers or die cuts – shop Stickers & Embellishments – Scrapbook Accents & Decorative Details | Creative Memories
• 12 inch trimmer- Trimmers – Creative Memories
• Photo trimmer - Trimmers – Creative Memories
• Tape runner adhesive - Adhesives – Creative Memories
To make the page as shown:
1. Select your designer paper for the base.
2. Select a few 6” x 4” variety mats from the mat pack and cut them to 3” x 4”.
3. Crop three photos to 3” x 4”.
4. Adhere the trimmed mats and photos along the left edge and bottom edge of the layout in an L-shape.
5. Adhere a border sticker or die cut border across the page as shown.
6. Add stickers or die cut embellishments.
Adapt this basic layout to create a variety of other pages by changing the orientation of the border to the right edge of the page (option 2) or swap out two of the 3 x 4 spaces with a 4 x 6 photo or mat (option 3).
